In Round 8 action we saw the Seniors back on the winners list as they slugged out a good win over Richmond Central.

Eddie Nyary played his best game for the club and Figs continued his damaging 2017 form, Tal Sardone, Nick Brown and Dec Nannery were also amongst the best.

All in all, it was a wonderful team performance and keeps the boys 2 games clear in 2nd spot, UHS came from behind to eventually run out comfortable winners over Canterbury and remain a game clear on top.

For the Reserves, it was a tale of two halves. The boys played a great first 50 minutes with the 2nd quarter being some of the best footy we’ve played all year. Dom Fogarty and Cillian Browne were providing much run, newcomer Dave “Buckets” Cameron was marking everything that came his way and Lee Johnston (playing his first 2017 game) wound back the clock with a couple of classy goals.

In the Third quarter, it all went pear-shaped as Richmond wend on a rampage, they kicked the first goal inside 20 seconds and the PHAFC boys lost their way.

In the end, it was a 9 goal to 1 second half, Coach Phil Mackney was very disappointed as was the rest of the playing group. We have much to work on in the 2nd half of the year – starting with some fitness!

We’ll get down to training and keep working hard as we head into the Queens Birthday weekend break.

GO HOUSE!
