MEN’S SENIOR ASSISTANT COACH

The Power House St Kilda Men’s football team continues to grow as a competitive and driven team with a strong appetite for success in the upcoming season. We are now seeking applications for a playing or non-playing Senior Assistant Coach for the men’s program in 2024.

THE PROGRAM

The coaches’ mission is to develop the skills, fitness, and football acumen of the playing group and build a team prepared for success. The coaches also support our players on an individual basis with the aim of improving their football skills and knowledge throughout the season.

We have a welcoming, inclusive and respectful playing group with a mix of returning and new players who contribute to the great culture we have and continue to develop at Power House.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting the Senior Coach in facilitating training sessions twice a week (Must have availability Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm)
  • Game day (Saturday) duties as specified by Senior Coach
  • Contributing to team selection
  • Development of core skills and gameplay understanding in players
  • Assisting Senior Coach in all aspects of playing group coaching

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum AFL coach level 1 foundation accreditation (or willingness to obtain immediately)
  • Previous experience in coaching is desirable but not essential.
  • Enthusiasm for developing and executing game plans
  • Leading engaging training sessions that enhance and improve players skills, and knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate and engage positively with players, coaches and the wider club
  • Experience in developing and delivering Strength and Fitness programs is desirable but not essential
