On Saturday 9 September, the club held its 2023 Best and Fairest Vote Count Night.

It was terrific to have such a large crowd at the club to celebrate the season and to celebrate the success of the Women’s program and look to start building for 2024. It was a very boisterous crowd incorporating a host of Men’s and Women’s players, coaches and a fair few supporters who attended and reviewed the season and watched the Best and Fairest votes tally round by round.

Over the vote count, the anticipation built as the rounds were tallied. The Men’s Senior and Reserves counts were relatively close but the action and real tension was with the Women’s count which went down to the last round of the season.

Lisa McCombs wins her second Women’s Best and Fairest

Lisa McCombs has stormed home to win her second Women’s Best and Fairest Award, winning by one vote after polling votes in the last game of the season.

After winning the award in 2019 and finishing runner up last season, it was a fitting victory for the Club Captain and spiritual leader of the team who had another stellar year and her second title highlights her consistency over many years. Lisa polled votes in 13 games.

Runner-up was Grace Curran who had a stellar season polling in 10 games including 4 best on ground performances. Grace was also runner-up to Lisa in 2019.
