The Seniors continued on their merry way with a devastating 7 goal first quarter against a previously unbeaten Canterbury.
Nick Nagel was pulling down everything that came his way and ended up with a huge bag of 12 goals, his performance even got him a write up on the VAFA website ($2 fine on Thursday night!). He even managed to kick the 12 despite Captain Adam Collett cleaning him up in an effort to snag a goal! (again $2 fine on Thursday!)
Euan Edwards was solid across half back along with James Huf who has started the season in good touch.
Veteran Darren Baker was everywhere, kicked 2 goals, and waived his hands in the air like he just didn’t care.
Tal Sardone ran all day and his attack on the football was fantastic. Figs also relished his new role as an attacking back man…. you wouldn’t want to be in his way when he is charging off half back!
All in all it was a huge team performance as the boys ran out 58 point victors. The boys now sit equal top at 3-0 with UHS-VU with another must win game against Point Cook at home on Saturday.

Reserves
In the Reserves it was a hard fought contest, those in attendance marvelled at the quality of the match as both teams ran the football well and shared the momentum.
Nick Brown was HUGE in his PHAFC comeback, he marked well over head and gave the forwards first use of the football – he even ended up with 2 goals himself.
Dec Nannery made the most of his opportunities up forward with 4 majors while Patty Arnold in game 199 slotted 3.
Old timers Phil Mackney and Greg Bell were solid all day and threw their weight around, Phil was even ordered by the opposition umpire to take it easy on some of the Canterbury players!! They also managed to give themselves votes…. ($2)
We were right in it up until the last quarter but couldn’t quite come home with the points. Once again it was a game we could have won but we now find ourselves 1-2 and a win this weekend is a non-negotiable!
A big thank you must go out to Canterbury FC who helped observe a moments silence before the game and didn’t sing their song post game as a mark of respect for our loss of Fitzy.
