It took four weeks but the proof to the adage “4 quarters of football” rang true after the final siren when the Power House boys took their first 4 points of the season after 4 intense quarters of pressure football.
At home for the first time this season, the Power House team looked like they were struggling early with Sth Mornington piling on 5 quick goals to start the game.
They quickly regrouped and had reduced the quarter time deficit to 10 points.
The team came out firing in the second quarter with key forward Jaydn Gatti presenting well and taking some of his opportunities. Adam Collett turned back the clock to his key forward past with two handy goals. We took a 16 point lead into the main break after holding the opposition goalless.
We continued the pressure football playing a relentless style that didn’t allow the opposition to break clear.
Dave Burnside was dominant taking many contested marks and dominating around the ground. We led by 14 points at 3/4 time.
In the last quarter, we played some great football and kicked 6 goals to 1 to run out 51 point winners.
Best for the House was Rowan Hobson in a familiar role across half back while Dave Burnside played some great football around the ground. Jaydn Gatti found some form up front and kicked 5 goals in a dominant display while Tanj Saraw, Ricky Webb and Steve Circosta were good.
The boys are looking forward this week to their battle against Kew at home in front of what will be a big crowd of past players celebrating a great day in the history of the Power House Football Club.

At home for the first time this season, the Power House boys took the points in a closely fought tussle with Sth Mornington.
The team was missing Key Power Forward Daniel Buckley who had been promoted to the senior side after a stellar few weeks of rich form. Also missing as a late withdrawal was swingman Patrick Arnold who failed a fitness test just prior to the game. The boys were also missing James “I don’t play Hockey” Dwyer who hadn’t come up from an ankle injury.
The game was tight all day but we were more composed when it counted.
The game saw Gerry “Piggy” Tubridy dominate throughout on the ball and up forward with 4 goals.
Steve “The Mountain” Devine continued his Wal Davie winning form in the ruck and up forward with 2 goals.
The coach had finally succumed to the pressure and selected Veteran Secret Weapon Rod “Rocket” Marshall to boost the side. His composure and contesting was matched only by his enthusiasm and age.
“Lucky” Phil Mackney was is great form across half back and snagged a goal while Chris “Don’t call me Paddy” Barrett also kicked 4 crucial goals
Johnny “China” Brennan had another solid game while late inclusion International Recruit Martin Piron was fantastic.
This week we play at home again in front of a big crowd as the past players and supporters celebrate a historic premiership.
