STRENGTH & CONDITIONING – INJURY PREVENTION
We are very excited to announce our relationship with Activ8 Physio will continue to build as the club invests in minimising player injuries for the 2024 season. Every Power House player is offered a full physical screening and a personalised strength and conditioning program. Preseason 2024 – Rhona Guerin (Activ8 Physio) will attend training and facilitate our conditioning program.
What is the Physical screening process?
Comprehensive physical screening prior to preseason maximises the benefits of preseason training. From pinpointing potential injury risks to fine-tuning agility and endurance, pre-screening is the key for unlocking your peak performance throughout the season.
We use a new software, Kinetisense, which assists us to get a baseline of your agility, balance and strength. This not only helps to identify any concerns but it also provides us a base on which to build from and refer to if there are any injuries throughout the season.
In relation to balance and potential concussion playing footy, we will perform a base balance assessment for each individual and this will be used as a tool for an appropriate return to field post concussion.
