ANZAC Day Home Game Special
The pre-game ANZAC service
Another triple header at home celebrating ANZAC Day and honouring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
The Women’s Team took the points to continue their good form. The Men’s Reserves slipped up but the Men’s Seniors won another tough battle to remain undefeated.
Women defeat Wattle Park 52 – 13
The Women’s team kicked off the day in the early game when they took on Wattle Park after a moving ANZAC ceremony. It was a close first quarter with the sides sharing a goal each in the slippery conditions. Another 2 goals by the House in the second term gave us a 20 point lead at the main break.

We kept up the pressure with 3 goals to 1 after half time to settle for a 39 point win.
Cat Bartholomew was back amongst the goals with 2 majors while
Bec Foley, Alana Murray, Grace Curran and
Georgia McHolmes each kicked one.
Our midfielders Grace Curran, Stef Conlon and Anna Jones were best while Carly McDade and Georgia McHolmes played key roles in the victory.

Men’s Reserves defeated by Wattle Park 59 – 84
The Reserves took on Wattle Park and for the second straight week, had a very slow start being down by 13 points mainly due to some inaccurate kicking for goal scoring 1 goal 7 for the term.

We lost gun ruckman Lachie Henderson with a head knock early in the game which upset our midfield balance. The second quarter was a strangle as we were restricted to one solitary point and trailed by 20 points at the main break.

The game evened out after half time and the boys fought back hard but Wattle Park ran out winners by 25 points.Tom Pitts was the star for the House in his second game while Sean Marshall (3 goals) was potent across the ground. Declan Nannery, Mark O’Driscoll and Wilson Jones also hit the scoreboard. John Robinson relished the challenge to play in the ruck while Oscar Peddle was solid alongside wily veteran Darra Conlon. Kevin O’Flynn was excellent with Tyler Denton-Gillespie also impressing.
Senior Men defeat Wattle Park 115 – 75
In another tough game of Division 3 football, the Power House side came out on top in a game that was tight early. The boys put a big break between the sides with a 6 goal first quarter to lead by 32 points at the first break. More of the same in the second quarter as we went into the sheds 39 points ahead.

Harry Officer (2 goals) was strong again while
Benny Circosta (2 goals) and
Sean Scotland (1 goal) controlled the midfield.
More goals came from Michael “Sugar” Timmons (4) who continued his early season form and key big man Dave Cameron (4), while returning swingman Jeremy Hill slotted 3 and Brett Scotland chipped in for a goal. Overall, a great team performance.
