After an emotional ANZAC Day ceremony, where the teams paid their respects to local sporting legend Flying Officer Stuart King (after who our pavilion is named) who died aged 36, in active service during the Second World War in 1943.

The Women’s Team line up for the pre-game ANZAC Ceremony
The first quarter was fast and furious as the House dominated from the start and quickly moved out to a 16 point lead through the aggressive attacking backline led by Lauren Taylor and Lisa Neylon. After our inability to convert in front of goal kicking 6 behinds, Latrobe kicked a late goal against the flow of play to cut our lead to 10 points at the first break.
The second term was an arm wrestle as both sides stepped it up another gear. Each side kicked a goal and the Women took an 11 point lead into the main break after terrific snapped goal from Britt Tancred.
The third term saw Latrobe lift again and make the most of their forward entries and kicking 2 goals to 1, worked back to a 4 point deficit at the final break. Lisa McCombs, Alana Murray and Courtney Coologhan were dominant around the ground.

The last quarter was intense as 2 goals to Rebecca Foley stretched the lead but late goals to Latrobe kept it interesting until the final siren where the House prevailed with a 44 – 38 victory.
Rebecca Foley’s 3 match goals had her best on ground honours while Cat Bartholomew continued her inspired early season form through the middle.
Goals to Britt Tancred, Lisa Neylon and Alana Murray were crucial while Carly McDade was impressive.
A good win to kick-start the season as we look to local rivals AJAX at home this week.
THE RESERVES travelled out to Ringwood to take on Aquinas in the early game and despite a strong first quarter, fell away dramatically to lose by a comfortable margin.
2021 Goalkicking winner Dave Cameron got us on the board and shared the goals with first year player Wilson Jones.
Best for the House were evergreen Darra Conlon who continues to dominate across the back half while Wilson Jones and Conor McWeeney battled hard. Midfielder John Robinson, Cormac Diamond and evergreen Stuart Shanks played well.

THE SENIORS played the late game and with a few new additions, were expected to put on a good showing. A slow first quarter as a quick, organised and impressive Aquinas were quick out of the blocks jumping to an early lead and increasing the lead by the end of the first half.

The Seniors regroup after half time
Some half time reflection, rearrangement and changes and a different approach led to a an much improved third quarter with some impressive commitment and attack on the ball and an increased intensity.
A much better showing in the second half but the damage had been done early and we slumped to a tough loss.
Best for the House was Troy Auld who also kicked a goal. Young Jordan Eliezer continued to show the way and finished with 2 goals while Sean Scotland (1 goal) continues his fine form through the middle. Ben Circosta and Jeremy Hill (1 goal) were solid again and Travis Scotland also hit the scoreboard.
This week we host our first triple header of the season with the Women taking on AJAX at 9.20am, while the Men take on Ivanhoe at 11.40am (Reserves) and 2.00pm (Seniors).
