We went to Swinburne for another away game and started off like “The House” on fire dominating the game booting 4.8 to a solitary point playing some inspired football.

The boys could have been further ahead but for some innacuracy in front of goal.

The second quarter was solid until a late rally got Swinburne ahead. We conceded 9 goals for the quarter in another lapse but managed to turn at the half only 12 points in arrears.

The third stanza was good again but we wasted plenty of opportunities to put the game away with poor disposal and poor kicking for goal.

A 5 goal to nil last quarter by Swinburne allowed them to run out 32 point winners.

Big Dave Burnside found some of his great form in the ruck and Jaydn Gatti provided a focal point up forward wth 3 goals. Co Captain Benny Leske was solid across half back again and Ricky Webb provided plenty of space and run.

We head to home for the first time this season next week when we take on South Mornington.

Thhis game broke the heart of coach Steve Webb as he saw his boys fail by 3 points in a disappointing result.

The game was tight all day but we allowed the opposition to kick some late goals and sneak ahead at the final siren.

Big Man Steve “The Mountain” Devine dominated all comers all day and finished with 3 goals in a best afield performance.

Power (Slimline) Midfielder Daniel Buckley and key Swingman Patrick Arnold were both among the goals.

Mike “Chilla” Chylinski was great while “China” Johnny Brennan was his physical selh around the packs.

New father “Lucky” Phil Mackney was awesome down back and Jonno “Swanny” Docker was alos amongst the best.

Still waiting for the coach to make the big call and bring in our secret weapon Rod “Rocket” Marshall to boost the side

Back to the Ross Gregory for our first home game of the season next week.
