Going into the game, this was Power House’s last real chance of securing a finals berth sitting only 1 and a half games out of September action.

This game against old rivals for The Lakeside Cup was a key fixture for the season and a real test to see whether we could  take our season further.

The team went into the encounter with a few key ommissions but this gave a couple of players their first chance to impress at senior football.

The Falcons opened up strongly and kicked away to a 21 point quarter time lead and stretched that to a 42 point half time gap.

The boys were under the pump and being pressured each time they took hold of the ball.

The sides battled hard throughout the second half and a last quarter lift saw the boys go down by 50 points in a disappointing result.

The Falcons took home the Lakeside Cup.

Best for the House were first gamer Phil Mackney and Stuart Shanks down back while the consistent trio of Adam Collett, Darren Baker and Dave Burnside worked hard.

Leroy Johnston was the main goalkicker with 2 majors
