The Seniors continued their impressive start to 2017 with a thumping 69 point win over Albert Park.

After a tight first quarter PHAFC eventually got a hold of the contest. Nick Nagel was marking everything and ended up with an 8 goal haul (he could of had 13 had he kicked straight!).

New recruits Tal Sardone and Darcy Grasby were everywhere and really contributed to a big win, Big Sauce Steve Devine rucked magnificently and River Carroll played an eye catching game taking out the Lakeside Medal.

It was a good crowd at the Ross Gregory to see the game, Essendon Captain Dyson Heppell came down to watch his mate Nick Nagel kick a bag and was even in the rooms for the post match song. Dyson also posed for a couple of photos with a few young fans – great stuff!

We now head to Canterbury next week who have been equally impressive with 2 wins to start the year, we were beaten soundly at the same fixture last year – a point not lost on the Senior coach, so we will be out for some retribution.

For the Reserves it was a disappointing day at the office, with 10 changes to the round 1 team it was always going to be tough getting the team to gel.

We had many players playing their first game of Footy for the club, some who haven’t played in years – so it’s going to take time to get into the swing of things.

Josh Auchettl played well and ran his guts out all day, Matty Trounce also played a fine game and snagged a couple of goals. Patty Arnold scored 3 goals but missed a few he would have liked to have kicked; while Dan Stuart also popped up with a couple of goals.

We will have a few senior players back into the team this week which will give us every chance of knocking off the Canterbury 2s.
