An interesting challenge awaited the boys as the hosted UHS-VU at the Ross Gregory.

The side was missing a large number of Senior players due to injury and unavailability but the 22 that took the field were determined to make a statement

With a finals spot still a remote but mathematical possibility, the team took that small chance out on to the ground determined to provide a big challenge against one of the competition leaders.

With a memory of a big early season loss to their opponents, Power House was determined to make a big showing.

At half time, the scores were very close with Power House showing they can match most sides when they decide to turn it on.

The third quarter was where this game was lost with UHS-VU kicking 5 goals to no score.

The boys lifted again in the final quarter to kick 3 goals to 1 but lost eventually by 27 points.

Leroy Johnston booted 5 majors while co-captains Ben Leske and Adam Collett were best and well supported by Hugh Tomlinson, Tyler Hinck and Stuart Shanks.

The boys were playing to secure their foinals spot against one of the strong reserves teams this season.

The game was a slog for the first half with Power House hanging tough against a solid and physical opponent.

Again the third quarter proved decisive when the boys conceded 5 goals while only scoring 1 point.

The last quarter was more of the same as UHS-VU ran away 59 point victors.

Barry Cox and Wally Summons were the best for the side while Duncan Eastey, Jimmy Dwyer and Michael Lynch worked hard and were among the best.

Another chance to secure that finals spot awaits the team next week.
