Great news this week as the boys come home to the Ross Gregory Oval for the first time this season- And what a week to come home!

We play old rivals Albert Park for the honour of lifting the famous and coveted “Lakeside Cup” which is currently held by Albert Park.

We also will have a big home match day crowd to cheer on the boys with the Ladies High Tea Luncheon – Pink Ribbon Day which is certain to record a big crowd of partners, wives, sponsors, friends and families. The day will be used to raise funds for breast cancer awareness and will be a great day.

The ground looks in great shape after some hard work by Parks Victoria and the Grand Prix Corporation. The boys are keen to “get back home” and play and get their season rolling…

On the field, the teams are fighting hard and showing glimpses of the style of play Senior Coach Ant Voyage has been working on for the past couple of seasons. The Seniors have 1 win and 2 losses while the Reserves continue their strong form from last season with a 2 and 1 record.

It has been great to see a great number of new players pulling on the green black and white jumper already this season. The atmosphere around the club has been fantastic with big numbers at training and also at our Thursday night $5 dinners with new “MC-Sauce” providing the entertainment. A show not to be missed!

Off the field, it’s been great to see a few Power House boys in action! Adam Collett and his wife Cat are the proud new parents of baby Matthew. Cat is doing well and says she now has a second baby in the house to look after!

Key defender James Walsh and his partner Rachael have also welcomed the arrival of their new son Jacob. Marathon Man, former player and Secretary James Dwyer has also announced that he and wife Jessica are expecting their first child. Watch this space!

High profile Irish legend and Don McDonald Award Winner Patty Barrett has finally succumbed to the lure of Rachael Higgins and has finally proposed! They are planning a winter wedding next January back home in Ireland.

So as you can see, there is plenty going on at “The House”. Let’s make an effort and get down to pull on the boots, support the boys, have a drink and enjoy the club.

Tear ‘em down…
