Wal Davie and Doc Macadam would be proud of the Club they founded in 1947. They had a vision and their legacy is a football club today rich in history and tradition. With its distinctive guernsey but neither a suburban or old school club, Power House is unique in amateur football. Now sixty years on, almost a 1000 young men have run out on the Ross Gregory in the green, white and black. Premierships have been hard to come by but the Club is proud of its roll-call of champions through the years. In the early days it was Curly Grant, vice captain of the Australian team at the 1956 Olympic Games who set the standard. Les Gordon and Peter Hutchinson followed - raising the bar and inspiring generations of Power House footballers. While Geoff Southby and Francis Jackson went on to VFL stardom, others stayed home to play for their club and Victoria with honour and distinction.

Power House Football Club salute to its champions

In our 60th year, it’s time to pay tribute to those champions of yesteryear … the best of the best from each era who played for their State or Country. Every generation had its outstanding players who left their mark on the playing field. They came from all walks of life but shared one thing in common ... the love of the jumper and a good time. We will recognize and celebrate their contribution to Power House.  Players from every era have been invited to join in celebrating our 60th birthday. It’s a rare opportunity to relive the camaraderie and spirit of your playing days and rekindle the friendships from your time at Power House. It’s guaranteed to be a memorable day complete with embellished stories of soaring marks, freakish goals and outrageous anecdotes. As a past player or supporter of the Power House Football Club, the Coterie invite you to join it for lunch on August 11 at the Ross Gregory. If you would like to be part of the celebrations, phone or email a Coterie member from your era. Catering at the ground is limited, with attendance restricted to 120 so please book early to avoid disappointment … this is truly a lunch you will not want to miss.
