Following the great win last week over Eley Park, Ian Dakin spoke to the team about Lord Somers Camp and the various Community  Camps run by

Volunteer members of Lord Somers Camp. There is a great need for volunteers to assist others in our community.

Dakes spoke about support from Footy club members Ric Dakin, Tony Miller, Jeff Scotland,Ben Griffin, Leroy Johnston, Paddy Arnold and himself

attending Mirabel Camp in October. 2013. Steve and Matt Devine are great supporters at V S K Camp.

Dakes spoke of how great it would be for more Footy members supporting Community Camps, and handed out information about MIRABEL CAMP. For members wishing to  attend or find out more about Lord Somers Camp , we have an excellent Face Book site and Web site.

The Program: In partnership with the Mirabel Foundation, we give children and families, impacted by drug and substance abuse, a free weekend away. Our volunteers entertain children with energetic and fun activities while simultaneously providing a relaxing weekend of pampering for carers (commonly grandparents).

Participants: Participants are children and families orphaned by parental drug abuse and commonly in the care of relatives (mostly grandparents).

Time/Schedule: March & October
