VALE

David “Fitzy” Fitzpatrick

It is with a very sad heart that the Power House Football Club announces the shock passing of David “Fitzy” Fitzpatrick.

Fitzy passed suddenly at his home last week.

Fitzy came to Power House in 2005 and has been a fixture at the club in his role as Match Day Manager for 13 years.

He had many friends at the club and around the VAFA and was one of the hardest working people at Power House.

In his role he would set up the ground, set up the rooms, mark grounds, set up goal posts, benches, support and escort umpires, complete paperwork, enter online scores, arrange officials for the day and when needed, would wave the flags or time keep and would also wash uniforms… each week he did “whatever it takes” to get things done.

He lived by the Power House ethos of “Service without Recognition”

He will be remembered for his passion for all things Power House and was a friend to all he met.

One of his greatest joys was getting into the post match circle and belting out the team song each week with his mates!

Always willing to lend an opinion, tell a story or offer advice, Fitzy had a heart of gold.

He would often be the last one at a club function, sitting at the end of the bar telling stories of his heyday.

He will be truly missed by everyone at the club and the whole Power House community.
